Flood Insurance Public Meeting for Central Stockton/Smith Canal
(Stockton, CA) - A public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2008, to discuss preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMS) issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in January of this year. The meeting will be held at the Civic Auditorium, 525 N. Center Street. A formal presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Information and display tables will be set-up offering the opportunity to ask specific questions of agency representatives in an Open House format from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Participating agencies and organizations will present important information about the new preliminary maps, recent changes to the maps, proposed projects, and time lines for FEMA effective maps and for obtaining insurance for both business and residential property.
