Expect Change:

Two words that is meant to challenge us.  I'm constantly reminded to push the envelope, think outside the box, adapt and change to fit the needs and desires of those we work with everyday.  However, in our efforts to change--we loose touch with some basic core principles.  I'm reminded of those "voicemail tree" systems that tell you to punch 2 for this, punch 3 for that, and after being on the phone for 5 minutes listening to a looped message, being told to leave a message and someone will call you back within 24 hours!  We've all gotten the message.  Grr...  Listening to people; spending 15 minutes just sitting at an appointment talking about life and it's challenges, not just showing a property in five minutes and leaving for the next appointment. I was enriched the other afternoon when I found out I was talking with a son from a well-known family in Stockton.  I wouldn't have learned anything about him if I didn't take those 15 minutes of listening.  I'm challenged every morning, not knowing what the day holds for me.  Every phone call, every person that walks in the door--it's how we choose to react and interact that makes a difference in each day.  One of the life lessons I have learned:  You've got to be involved within the change that's coming to stay engaged.  Enjoy the human race.
